Yeah, you wore a rainbow for one whole day the air waves are full, the horizons are grey from this point kiss me like you mean it and dance on a pin I give no more time to debatable sin the conversation's done Sweetwater & a pain in my ribs and the brittlest chalk in the mouths of the kids crumble down so kiss me like you mean it and dance on a pin I dance on the crux of revelatory sin here's a ribbon for your hair I want a love song for you I want a love song for me, too go on and love some more Your badge of shame would be my honour 15 pieces of flair and a flash of colour a subtle line, when normalcy comes a fence between when the day is done and place it deftly on my lapel here pink triangles, still

off on rotation in a constant state of help to wring a single drop from an empty well I'm a farmer's son I was born upon the land You were born a sailor, crash upon the sand and when I'm famous, I won't forget my name and when you're famous, i hope you do the same leave my parents place new horizons, but they can pay my rent the light was in my eyes the feeling is a wonder and heartbreak the scenery though is orange and concrete You're a sailor you were born upon the water the city doesn't care for what you have to offer Montreal won't save you, despite what the songs say a deaf ear is a deaf ear by any other name you scratched and clawed, they didn't see you band, neither did I the ice was in my eyes there's a shadow on the tiles the lie was in my eyes there's a shadow on the tiles bleed out for an empty room an army of sprouts to replace the old recruits wait for the train for a while on the orange tiles

Black Midi 02:45
face against the breeze put a nail right through the keys the waves goes on for days put it in my eye the way is wide, my step is light a still, small frequency rubbed against the grain I don't think the song sounds the same I made this thing and I've got more I wrote this thing, but who's it for? pouring through the dollar bin here's a copy of the way I feel like a robin's cut throat breast because I love you I bear my chest because you love me, keep it hid it will protect you like a talisman Because I'm full of love I stole a bug from A & dub to prove that I'm still free put it in my ear every single song I hear is black midi, on the radio

do you know how fast you were going? don't know for sure but my hair was blowing back like this white-knuckled fist but I plead the fifth now slap my wrist I barrel into the ocean I skip across the tension like the divine on armageddon time and tiptoe down the line Do you know how fast I am? other DJ's say "damn" Do you know who will clean this mess? I know for sure I couldn't care less than nothing i do know something i slam the door and forgo my blessing Do you know how fast I am? such that you'll never see me again a hue, a cloud, a call a list poem for everything I've done wrong a blur, a fist, a dawn a mixtape to dig out when I'm dead and gone a sword, a wave, a song to wield against the storm and sing to make it calm they can't mold me they can't scold me I'm too fast they can't hold me they can't know me I'm too fast they can't learn me they can't burn me I'm too fast they can't touch me they can't love me 'cause I'm too fast

Was it the golden fleece or the golden calf was it the goalsetting paper ripped in half Ive get that sinking feeing deep inside my tummy with all the precious talk of land flowing with luck and money Baby needs some brand new shoes as I wallow in small-time blues All these efforts taste like salt and bitters and my temples convert to salt and pepper *Im gonna lay my head on some lonesome railroad line oh to build a career upon another forced rhyme Trouble in mind I'm blue Watch me dance in a puddle of small time blues hear me, embrace me, believe me I'm still here please, see me

The night is on the take but a 40 hour cycle pulls me in it's wake what very present aid If you wanna see cement, there's paved paradise stretching to horizon's end? See how the light bends? In a hierarchy of need fill up my mailbox with government cheese or graveyard walls, fleurescent buzz always be earning for a cemetray cause all the colours that I bleed Cash ruins everything around me If it overwhelms me, I cut and run and happily forgotten when I'm dead and gone a heavy yellow light & it fits just right When posed the question, what to choose? or the other option, to refuse a god-given right bathe me in yellow light

there's a mountain range that spans forever there's a haze up in the air there's a forest ever burning there's a bike without a tire dip a leg into the ocean there's a weather beaten flag there's a kid without a name there's a worry overhead there's a portrait of the queen in the arena there's a mass grave to be found there's some rest here now but there is no greener field beyond the wall dip a leg into the ocean there's a weather beaten flag there's a kid without a name theres a sinkhole in the ground there's a portrait of the queen in the arena There's 2000 kids six feet down** and in time, find a way to come to terms with this greener field somehow you made your bed, now lie in it this is the mess we've inherited we made our bed, now we lie in it this is the mess we've inherited **when we recorded this song, at the time, there had been discovered the bodies of a little over 2000 Indigenous children buried outside of residential schools. By the time of this writing, the number is over 6500 children.

Crimson Mask 02:25
I get colour the hard way and it tastes like loose change the iron spilling out I build it up like starcade but I'm met with heartache when I put it into the world Am I in your favour? I well up with spirit desire a view from the top looks like I could rest here for a while but I'm a poet, so I strip down to nothing and hold my breath I'm ready to tag in, give me that finger of blessing booker-man but I'm a warrior, my body's made of kevlar now give my your hand I'll keep my phone in my underwear band If I choose to opt out, I'll probably be just fine beyond the ripe age, nor from the right place probably better not to try put my dreams into the ether and wait for them to call me back I'm on hold again, I'm sure there's probably something better on TV

wolf-whistle to me I can't see without the light The moon is blocked out make my way by lightning strikes wolf, whistle to me lead me like a guide the spirit is spilled out and evaporate guise --- it's a cataract night in the violent light cuts a rip in the sky with a violet light ___ there are no words for emotion but let me get those syllables in but if my head is on fire I'm sure the blunting dims for what could happen give it not a passing thought like rubbing socks on the carpet Choose me for the violet shock brace yourself like a man Can you see from there? I can see from here Can you hear from there? I can hear so clear Will you trust me, kid? the feeling is pure-pain the taste is sweet I am in twain Can you see from there?

Silver Rings 03:15
One fits inside the other like two hands together two concentric boys spit out some joyful noise Let's raise a glass to your second favourite son spruce in string on the table a smudge against the dawn the ephemeral thing and a silver ring how the prism shoots light on the floor a spectrum of silver, or a kaleidoscopic awe step back to consider this is the frame the life, it is a work and aren't we sick of shame tapping on the kitchen counter an ever constant reminder of all that they don't want me to have and on my left hand finger a shining band of silver reminds me of everything I now have
